A 56-year-old Dubbo man is in a critical condition in a Sydney hospital after his car was found flipped in a paddock on the Newell Highway near Peak Hill on Sunday.

Police said a property owner discovered the badly damaged silver Mitsubishi Magna at about 7.45am.
Paramedics, police and firefighters arrived at the scene a short time later and found the the man, a Sri Lankan national, still had his seatbelt on.
The man was removed from the vehicle and treated at the scene for hypothermia and a broken arm before he was transported to Dubbo Hospital.
The man was then airlifted to St George Hospital in Sydney where he remains in intensive care in a critical condition.
It is unknown how long the man was trapped in the vehicle before he was located.
