Footage of the detainees vandalising the building and specialist officers trying to get them down was beamed into lounge rooms across the country.
It comes after a stand-off on May 1 that resulted in $150,000 worth of damage to the taxpayer funded facility.
On May 5 a male youth officer working at the centre was also assaulted several times at by a detainee, the Daily Liberal can reveal.
The latest drama rooftop drama reportedly unfolded at about 4pm Friday afternoon and concluded by 7pm.
Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Gareth Ward said he planned to visit Dubbo and inspect the facility "in the near future".
"Youth Justice is supporting staff who were involved in the incident... I have instructed Youth Justice to conduct safety audits at all centres," he said.
A review into the youth justice system is underway.
