Generous Dubbo businesses and community members have dug deep to ensure about $31,000 will go to a mental health organisation in need.
Lifeline Central West currently delivers counselling services out of a rented building in Dubbo and if the organisation had a home of its own it would be able to spend more money helping people who are mentally ill.
A fundraising dinner to help Lifeline buy a building was held at Rhino Lodge last month and organisers have confirmed a follow-up event will be held next year.
"I was buoyed by the enthusiasm and talent we had involved with the committee," said Mathew Dickerson, chairman of the Winter Wonderland organising committee.
"Every single person played a significant part in helping pull together an event to be remembered and the survey feedback shows the attendees were appreciative of the efforts put in to the event," he said.
"Planning has already started for next year and if anyone wants to be involved, I welcome their contact."
In addition to the $31,000 the event raised for Lifeline, it also helped the organisation attract six new volunteers.
Lifeline takes about 2,600 calls each day and if you need support you can contact the service on 13 11 14.
