Perspective. One person's point of view. Often it is different from the one you have. Often it lets you into that person's life.
This week was all about perspective.
"The reality is that while the Showground is council-controlled, it is run as a business. It would be a legal minefield to start choosing who and who can not hire the facilities," the Dubbo mayor said.
The mayor was responding to criticism the council had leased a pavilion at the Showground to an itinerant trader and disadvantaged two local fishing businesses.
We have said it before, but we agree with the sentiment that, "The best thing we can all do is be mindful of supporting local business - 365 days a year."
Dubbo MP Dugald Saunders has begun to show some frustration with local media, both social and traditional, who publish the views of those who oppose the River Street Bridge.
He maintains he is not hiding from those views and that he has been honest about his.
"I have been open and honest, before the election and since, that I believe in this project and the benefits it will bring to Dubbo," he told the Daily Liberal.
For the first time in its history, Woolworths supermarkets are supporting Share the Dignities August Drive by collecting in-store donations.
'Share The Dignity' is an organisation which aims to provide homeless and at-risk women nationally with sanitary products to allow them a sense of dignity at a time when they need it most.
We think this is a great initiative and encourage our readers to donate when they are shopping at Woolworths.
It's 10 years since Dubbo and district residents voted like crazy to keep Charlie Bartley in the national television show So You Think You Can Dance Australia.
Today he's living his dream of dancing for one of the world's superstar artists, Usher.
Read all about his life in the United States in our weekend Q&A.
