A celebration of Indigenous children drew about 500 preschoolers to Victoria Park on Thursday.
The annual and national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day continues to be popular in Dubbo.
Children enrolled at Dubbo preschools, in long-day care and playgroups converged on the park with their carers.
Organisers of the event ignored grey clouds because of enthusiasm for it.
The theme of this year's event is We Play, We Learn, We Belong.
It promotes the "critical importance" of "early years" education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
The event is led by the National Voice for our Children.
