There's nothing quite like the magic of the movies, and when the Reading Cinemas complex opened in June 1999, Dubbo and the Central West had seen nothing like it.
The cinema complex offers moviegoers an experience more like those living in the suburbs of one of our major cities would be used to - five big screens and all the latest films.
For those of you who love music as I do, an incredible line-up has been announced for the 2020 Red Hot Summer Tour.
Hunters and Collectors will headline the 10th-anniversary tour. They'll be joined by James Reyne, The Living End, The Angels, Baby Animals, Killing Heidi and Boom Crash Opera.
The Dubbo leg of the tour will be held on Saturday, April 4, at Lazy River Estate. It'll be one of the last of the four-month stint.
That's pretty much my youth and young adulthood right there in that stellar line-up, and Dubbo was a desired location for the tour to include in its itinerary.
Dubbo can rightly call itself 'Dubvegas' it is the entertainment capital of the Central West, no contest.
Now if only we could convince Elton John......
