Those attending the morning tea brought a gold coin donation, with the money going towards Jeans for Genes.
Jeans for Genes Day is an annual charity event that raises funds for revolutionary research that helps diagnose, understand, and find cures or treatments for conditions affecting kids, including genetic diseases, cancer, and epilepsy.
Volunteers across the country sell merchandise, collect donations and spread the word about Jeans for Genes on the day.
"Every community should be passionate about other people, raising awareness around these events, the purpose behind the events, coming together as a community for important occurrences and becoming aware of the nature behind Jeans For Genes Day and other events themselves," Ms Howarth.
"We are extremely grateful that we had the support of other organisations who donated food, party decor and stock to Breakthru for our morning tea."
Ms Howarth said donations from the public make holding events like Jeans For Genes Day possible.
"It was because of the donations we were able to host the event," she said.
"Without the donations, it would have been out of our own pockets being a not-for-profit organisation.
"It was really big for us to have had the donations.
"I would like to thank Ben at Dubbo Big W who provided the party decor and party stock for us as a donation, and Michelle from Dubbo Garian Food Wholesalers and Ash Crofts from IGA for donating food."
Breakthru is an organisation which empowers people to create their own futures and experience seamless inclusion into their communities through the provision of high-quality person-centric programs.
They enable thousands of people every year to address mental health, employment, disability, accommodation and training needs, according to Mel, this is why coming together for charity events is such a priority to them.
"We have a lot of customers at Breakthru with many different personalities and passions," Ms Howarth said.
"So we aim to try and touch base on an array of important topics."
The morning tea was extended until 1 pm, so all members of Breakthru were allowed to participate in the special day regardless of their morning schedule.
