The Old Dubbo Gaol received a gold award in the cultural tourism category, as well as a bronze award for best tourism attraction.
Gold was also awarded to Dubbo Regional Council in destination marketing.
The Dubbo Visitor Information Centre was nominated as a finalist in the visitor information services award category.
"I'm very proud of the staff that work for Dubbo Regional Council, being recognised at this level and bringing home gold and bronze across three categories reflects the passion and drive council staff have for their work, their region and their community," Mr McMahon said this week.
"To be nominated among some of the best tourism attractions across the state is something the team should be proud of in its own right, and to take home three awards is just outstanding."
Mr McMahon said the Old Dubbo Gaol was a state heritage-listed site housing nationally-significant collections such as the hangman's kit and gallows with theatrical tours and night tours.
"It's a must-see and a very deserving winner of the two awards it collected on Saturday night," he said.
The chief executive officer also noted the results of Dubbo Regional Council's collaboration with Destination NSW.
"We've been proud to partner with Destination NSW to effectively deliver the Dubbo and Great Western Plains destination marketing campaign," he said.
"This campaign has successfully marketed the region to an audience of families looking for an adventurous, outdoor experience.
"It has delivered excellent statistics with visitation up despite the worst drought on record.
It's wonderful to achieve such great results statistically and now excellent to be recognised with the gold award in this category."
The recipients of gold awards will compete in the NSW Tourism Awards.
