PAWGUST asks them to commit to exercising their dog for 30 minutes a day for 30 days during August.
Guide Dogs Australia is inviting owners to sign on to the fundraising initiative that benefits the health of all pooches. To mark the launch of PAWGUST, it has released a dog happiness quiz.
"...owners need to be walking their dog every day - not just for their wellbeing, but for the mental and physical wellbeing of their best mate," Guide Dogs NSW/ACT training manager Eddie Sullivan said.
By getting behind PAWGUST, dogs and their owners could improve their mental health while raising funds for an important cause, he said.
"...It costs $50,000 to raise and train a guide dog, so we'd love the support of as many Australians as possible to provide the best services possible to people living with vision impairment."
