The Old Dubbo Gaol received gold in the Cultural Tourism category, as well as a bronze for best tourism attraction.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
It's a step up from last year when the Gaol was awarded a silver in the same category.
A gold was also awarded to Dubbo Regional Council in Destination Marketing.
Council was recognised for the $250,000 Great Big Adventures campaign. It spent $125,000, matched by another $125,000 from the NSW government, to highlight family-based activities like exploring the Wellington Caves.
Manera Heights Apartments received silver in the Standard Accommodation section, while the Dubbo Visitor Information Centre was a finalist in Visitor Information Services.
The VIC lost to Mudgee Region Tourism, which also took out gold in 2018.
For being named as the best in their categories, Dubbo Regional Council and the Old Dubbo Gaol will now progress to the NSW Tourism Awards, which will be held in November. They'll battle it out with other tourism providers.
Regional Tourism Awards chair Jane Barnes congratulated all of the winners and finalists on their contribution to regional tourism.
"Finalists in this year's program were of a high calibre with a number of first-time entrants on the list," Ms Barnes said.
"We are thrilled to recognise the best of the region's tourism industry and wish our winners the best of luck as they progress to compete against operators from the entire state."
There were 19 winners announced on the night from areas such as tourism businesses, events, restaurants, wineries and accommodation providers. There were also three providers inducted into the Hall of Fame: Mudgee Region Tourism, Parkes Elvis Festival and Rich River Golf Club in Moama.
