A 37-year-old man is receiving treatment for a significant head injury after he was allegedly punched by a teenager in Cobar.

Police said the pair had a verbal dispute at a Cobar pub on Thursday night.
They were asked to leave and the 19-year-old man is alleged to have punched the older man in the head before they left the pub.
Paramedics treated the man at older man at the scene and he was taken to Cobar Hospital for treatment.
After he was assessed the man was transferred to Dubbo Hospital for further treatment.

The 19-year-old was arrested at a nearby premises and has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was granted conditional bail and will face Cobar Local Court on August 28.
