The Wellington Aquatic Leisure Centre will be open until 6.30pm each night when the swimming season starts at the end of the year.
It is expected to open on October 5, unless it is delayed by construction. If the redevelopment of the pool is not completed by October, the opening will be pushed back until November 12.
It will remain open until March 22, 2020.
During all months but January, the pool will be open until 6.30pm, however in January it will be an hour later.
Councillor David Grant said he was confused about why entry for every pool in the area was the same price, but a better service was being offered to the Dubbo people, compared to Geurie and Wellington.
I would certainly urge people in Wellington who want equal access to the pool...to make their opinions known...
- Councillor Stephen Lawrence
Dubbo Regional Council CEO Michael McMahon said the opening hours for this swim season were kept the same as last year because council wanted to get some understanding about the times people were using the pool.
A new entry system will be able to record that data in Geurie, Dubbo and Wellington.
"In the event that there is a change in demand, quickly we can make an amendment to those times, alter those hours to better reflect the users needs in those centres for that period of time," Mr McMahon said.
He said currently, the staff were of the opinion that the "existing hours were sufficient to meet the needs of those three centres".
Councillor Stephen Lawrence said the different opening times between Dubbo and Wellington were "significant".
"I would certainly urge people in Wellington who want equal access to the pool to have the same opening hours that Dubbo has to make their opinions known to the staff and to councillors and to council and it might change in the future," Cr Lawrence said.
