Mulholland returns to his home track with just the one hope. He'll saddle up Lucky Elixir in the Over The Line Racing Benchmark 58 Handicap (2410m).
Tuesday's meeting was originally meant to be run at Warren, but with the track there undergoing work the switch was made to Wellington Jockey Club.
Mulholland's Lucky Elixir heads into the meeting having produced little cheer about this preparation, with his best results in 12 starts being third-placed finishes at Cowra and Mudgee.
But with champion jockey Ryan in the saddle and his trainer's handy knack for scoring winners, there is certain to be some interest around the eight-year-old on race day.
Mulholland is coming off success in last week's Reeve Wheeler Memorial at Dubbo Turf Club, with Steamin' scoring an impressive win in that event.
Tuesday will mark the first time in five races Lucky Elixir hasn't lined up alongside stablemate Butter Toast, with Mulholland opting not to run one of his real stable stars at his home track.
Butter Toast won three of the four races he and Lucky Elixir contested recently, while the latter failed to figure in the placings.
Despite that, Lucky Elixir was sitting on the second line of betting for Tuesday's event on Monday afternoon.
Mulholland's gelding was a $4.40 chance then, behind the Rodney Northam-trained $2.35 favourite True Finesse.
Scone-trained hope True Finesse has been in strong form of late, with a win at Taree three starts back followed by a second-placed finish at Mudgee last time out.
He finished ahead of both Butter Toast and Lucky Elixir that day.
Tuesday's 10-horse field will also include two contenders from the Dubbo stables of Garry Lunn in the form of Traffic Cop and Nightspun.
Six-year-old Traffic Cop is backing up from racing at Lunn's home town of Carinda on Saturday, where he ran second in a benchmark 50 event.
