After being ridden to victory by Ken Dunbar last year it was Andrew Banks who piloted Zoutenant in the 1400m Dubbo City Toyota cup event.
Always close to the lead, Zoutenant ($3.80) took control in the straight and won by nearly four lengths from Prince Roo (Chelsea Ings, $16) and Purest (Rasit Yetimova, $10).
Garry Lunn, a brother of Dar, suffered a dislocated shoulder at Dubbo races on Friday but was out of hospital in time to be at Carinda and win the Gateway Drive Thru Walgett Maiden Plate (1400m) with Vonnegutesque (Wendy Peel, $2.70 favourite).
Well known shearing contractor Wayne "Bronco" Lunn, who lives at Carinda and is a brother of the four Lunns who train at Dubbo, owns Vonnegutesque and he also sponsored the Class 1 Handicap (1400m), won by the Lindsey Kennedy-trained Eyota.
Daniel Pitomac positioned his mount behind the leader and Eyota ($21) arrived in time to beat Work And Chat (Wendy Peel, $6) by a head with Moment Of Hope (Chelsea Ings, $7) two lengths away third.
Felicette continued a very successful season for Dubbo trainer Connie Greig and stable jockey Rasit Yetimova when winning the O'Brien Brigalow Pastoral Company Benchmark 45 Handicap (1100m).
Pullman Brown (Tony Cavallo, $6) held a big lead in the straight but was overhauled and beaten a long-head by Felicette ($4) with Shake Off (Jake Pracey-Holmes, $5) third.
Nyngan trainer Rodney Robb, currently second on the NSW Premiership ladder for country trainers, won the Loch Lomond Border Leicester Stud Maiden Handicap (1000m) with Bel Twista ($2.30 favourite), which responded to strong riding from Michael Heagney to defeat Donelita (Jake Pracey-Holmes, $3.60) and Small Dream (Daniel Pitomac, $4).
Racing at the very successful Carinda meeting concluded with an outstanding ride by Tony Cavallo on the Mark Ward-trained I Can Hear Music to win the Complete Asset Management Benchmark 50 Handicap (1700m).
From the outside barrier, I Can Hear Music ($10) was given a charmed run behind the leader and finished best to score by more than two lengths from Traffic Cop (Andrew Banks, $6) and Rusty Motorbike (Michael Heagney, $4.40).
