Rod Irwin, the owner of Wellington Mowers and Chainsaws, believes courts "keep letting repeat offenders out" and wants harsher sentences handed down.
His business was targeted by offenders on Saturday morning and he said he's "lost count" of how many times he has been broken into.
"If a few people were to get locked up for extended periods of time I do believe that would make a difference," Mr Irwin said.
"The courts obviously see good in people that there is no good in.
"Send them to a jail not in this area... we don't want life to be convenient for these people who live around here and commit crime."
