The free, weekly five-kilometre event is going from strength to strength in helping men, women and children get active.
Shortly before 8am on Saturday, 315 people gathered at Sandy Beach for the festivities, many of them dressed for the winter pyjamas theme.
An inspiring group of regulars from the higher age brackets was invited to perform the cake-cutting honours.
"We wanted to celebrate parkrunners that had the most life experience, showing us that parkrun is really for all ages and all abilities," event director Miriam Tan said.
"All cake cutters had participated in at least 50 parkruns, some [in] more than 100."
Among the crowd of runners and walkers was 27 first-timers and 29 people recorded personal bests.
In the four years since it started, more than 2500 distinct people have participated, and the record turnout is 460 participants.
Dubbo parkrun has also involved 794 volunteers.
Ms Tan said the organising team would love to help and support the launch of other parkrums in the region.
"Narromine for example launched this year and is going really well," she said.
"Secretly, we'd love to get to 500 participants in one day.
"Another goal is to continue to strengthen community ties and establish new ones such as with GPs."
Afterwards, parkrunners enjoyed breakfast cooked by the Clontarf Foundation.
