In December 2018, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Unit charged an 18-year-old man with five sexual and indecent assault offences.
While the man was before the courts, it's alleged he fled the state.
Following further inquiries, the man was arrested by officers from the Queensland Police Service in Cairns on Tuesday July 9.
He appeared at Cairns Local Court the following day, where NSW Police Force detectives applied for and were granted his extradition.
The man was escorted by police on a flight to Sydney last Friday (12 July 2019).
