The mare improved on streak of unstable finishing places in recent races to get back to winning form as Edwards piloted it past the odds' on favourite Casuarina Belmer in the Goodtime Lodge Pace to snatch a first place finish.

She also beat out Trent Rue's Khawaja and John Vautin's Regal Finale, both of whom were favoured on the bookie's odds, and took second and third place respectively.

Edwards' also got the better of Amanda Turnbull and Posh Accent, though Turnbull herself scored a double later in the day.

While Mark Hewitt's Mighty Joe was only slightly behind Michael Souden's Manhattan Island in the bookie's eyes before the HRNSW Guaranteed Two Year Old Pace started, but managed to prove the few doubters wrong.

The Hewitt trained and piloted gelding managed to reverse the odds in his favour, thundering across the finish line in a strong opening win to start the day's proceedings off.
