I am sure some of you know how stressful it is when you are asked to leave a rented property and find new digs.

The Macquarie Conservatorium will require a new address after being told their lease will not be renewed at the current premises.

Macquarie Conservatorium Board chair Leanne O'Sullivan said it was "disappointing" and "challenging" news for the Conservatorium, we wish them well and hope they find new premises before its deadline to vacate.

NSW Governor Margaret Beazley was everywhere in Dubbo this week, and we were all impressed with her candour during her many speeches.

The Governor started a few conversations this week when she backed calls for a drug rehabilitation centre in Dubbo after Councillor Stephen Lawrence referred to it in his NAIDOC week speech.

Cr Lawrence reiterated in his speech the Dubbo Regional Council's commitment to providing land for a rehab facility because it recognises the way over-representation of Aboriginal people in our jails was entrenching disadvantage, and "dooming too many young people to repeating cycles of mental ill-health, unemployment and drug use."

Dubbo's status as a modern and growing regional city is being threatened by the absence of sufficient and new villa apartments, townhouses and units, according to real estate agents Adam Wells and Bob Berry.

The Real Estate Institute of NSW-Orana Division Chairman Adam Wells said: "If we don't start formulating a plan... there is the potential for people to choose to invest in other regional centres or for people downsizing to go somewhere else."

For those who love a beer, our story on a milestone moment for Dubbo's Devil's Elbow Brewery will put a smile on your dial.

The $3 million venture embarked on its first brew on Thursday, watched by an excited general manager Brendon O'Sullivan.

The craft beer process started eight days after the venue, which also boasts coffee and pizza, opened to the public.

The dream of Mr O'Sullivan and friends Paul and Melissa Knaggs, and David Rich, Devil's Elbow Brewery was four years in the planning and six months in construction in Blueridge Business Park.

Finally, Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders is adamant the River Street Bridge project is the best solution for Dubbo, and he is not for changing.

Mr Saunders tells us why he is sticking by the project. We wonder if his staunch support for the project in the face of vocal opposition from many residents is a wise move.
