The drought forced businesses to shed jobs last quarter, reports Western NSW Business Chamber regional manager Vicki Seccombe who is keen to see promised infrastructure projects get under way,

Her advice follows the release of the latest Business Conditions Survey conducted by the NSW Business Chamber, which is calling for "additional stimulus to bolster economic activity", particularly in drought-affected areas.
"Our businesses in the Far West and Orana reported some of the worst business conditions in the state, with one of our business noting it was the hardest climate that they have operated in 24 years," Ms Seccombe said.
"Unfortunately, that sentiment is widespread.
"Our survey also reveals that businesses also had to shed staff in the quarter, on account of worsening conditions."

Ms Seccombe is keen to see the state government "get on with the delivery of infrastructure" promised to regional NSW.
"Given the severity of the drought and impact on the community, it is time for all levels of government to work more collaboratively to provide support and assistance to regional businesses who are hurting," she said.
"The recent passing of the tax package may provide some good news as consumers will have more money in their pocket to spend on discretionary items but this survey shows Western NSW is going to need more than that."
