FIVE months ago Bathurst trainer Dean Mirfin was celebrating the first win of Electrified's racing career at Dubbo, but this Saturday the three-year-old will be aimed at a bigger prize.

Mirfin will take him to the Winter Stakes Day meeting at Rosehill Gardens where the Declaration Of War x Electra gelding will contest the $75,000 TAB Highway (1,400 metres).
With just eight starts to his credit, Electrified is still learning his race craft but after a strong campaign earlier this season, Mirfin has enough faith to aim him at something bigger.
He won his maiden race - over the same distance as Saturday's Highway - at Dubbo on February 10 then backed that up with victory in a Class 2 on his home track later that month.
Mirfin gave him a 13-week spell then on June 22 headed to Randwick for a Highway race. On a heavy 8 track Electrified was always well back and could only manage 11th.
But Mirfin is hoping for better this Saturday when Jess Taylor saddles up and Electrified goes from barrier three.
"He's a big improver - he can be a bit of a bludger in work, but if top jockeys rate his ability, you run with it," Mirfin said.
No matter the result on Saturday, Mirfin is still enjoying the best run of his training career. He has already saddled up 28 winners this season - his seventh running a team - and is on track to double the 15 he had last campaign.
The race is set for 12.40pm.
