Flights have returned to schedule at Dubbo after a morning disrupted by heavy fog.
Qantas, Regional Express (Rex) and Fly Corporate all experienced disruptions to services in the morning, according to the Dubbo City Regional Airport website.
"Unfortunately the fog certainly creates many challenges for airlines, airports and passengers," airport operations manager Jacki Parish said.
"Safety is and always will be the first priority."
Ms Parish said the airlines liaised with airport operational staff to make a decision about take off and landing safety.
A Rex spokeswoman said: "Regional Express (Rex) has experienced delays to some services this morning due to fog at Dubbo airport and affected passengers have been notified accordingly."
12.05 PM:
The first flight into Dubbo has landed but Tuesday morning's fog continues to cause disruptions for air travellers.
Regional Express's 7.55am flight from Sydney to Dubbo finally arrived a short time ago, the Dubbo City Regional Airport reports.
But the 7.50am Qantas flight from Sydney is listed as cancelled.
Five departing services, including Fly Corporate's Brisbane flight, and two flights each for Qantas and Rex are both listed as delayed.
11.55 AM:
The thick fog that blanketed Dubbo on Tuesday morning is likely to impact two afternoon flights, causing more frustration for passengers.
The big grey has caused disruptions to both inbound and outbound Qantas and Regional Express services.
Natalie Myers said in a post to the Daily Liberal's Facebook page she had been waiting for 5.5 hours.
"Still sitting on the tarmac for the second time today," she said.
11.30 AM
The heavy fog that descended on Dubbo on Tuesday is likely to impact two afternoon flights.
Regional Express's 12.55pm flight from Sydney to Dubbo and its 2pm flight from Dubbo to the NSW capital are now listed as delayed by the Dubbo City Regional Airport website.
Passengers of the airline and of Qantas have experienced disruptions to their travel plans throughout the morning.
The Rex flight to Broken Hill has departed.
The fog was also a talking point for commuters on their way to work this morning.
EARLIER:
Heavy fog at Dubbo has caused significant flight disruptions at the city's airport that may continue throughout the morning.
Passengers remained on the ground as the weather event forced major carriers to delay take-off and landing times.
The fog comes after a fall of 5.8mm of rain in the 24 hours to 9am on Monday.
Qantaslink's 7.50am and 9.15am flights from Sydney are both listed as delayed, according to the Dubbo City Regional Airport website.
The estimated time of arrival for the 9.15am flight is two hours later, 11.20am, the website says.
Two Regional Express (Rex) flights from Sydney are also listed as delayed.
Two Qantas flights to Sydney, one Rex flight to Sydney and one Rex flight to Broken Hill are also listed as delayed.
The estimation for the 9.45am Qantas flight out of Dubbo is 11.40am.
Dubbo was not the only centre affected by fog on Tuesday morning, with Tamworth Airport posting a photo of the pea soup to social media.
