History Talk: Cooee and Colonial Businesswomen
The Aboriginal collection contains items related to the history, language, art and culture of Aboriginal people, and includes adult and junior resources written by, or about, Aboriginal people, from language dictionaries to dreamtime stories for children. The library can also provide access to online resources including the Australian Indigenous Index database, an index to articles published in the Koori Mail newspaper, and also to information on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, issues and events from a variety of sources. Join historians Dr Catherine Bishop and Richard White as they explore aspects of Australia's cultural and colonial histories from unique perspectives. Dr Catherine Bishop will examine the role of entrepreneurial women in Australian colonial society, while Richard White will explore the history of the 'cooee' call and its impact as a cultural symbol.

Drop in on Wednesday, July 17 from 10am - 12noon for magical unicorn themed themed crafts, or every weekday afternoon during the holidays come along to Lego Club from 2pm - 4pm and create a Lego masterpiece. Drop in events are free and all ages welcome. No bookings required.

Thursday, July 18 - Harry Potter trivia. Test your knowledge on everything to do with The Boy Who Lived and the Wizarding World. Dress up on theme for a chance to win a prize.
