The workshops, for children five to 14 years-old, are run by an educational supervisor, but an adult must also accompany children between the age of 5-12.
Western Plains Cultural Centre Educational Officer Phil Aitken said the workshops provide children with a great opportunity to socialise and encourages them to get involved in the arts.

- Phil Aitken
"It's an opportunity for kids to explore the making of art, and allows kids to explore their own artistic desires," Mr Aitken said.
"Art offers a different way of looking at things and encourages children can develop their unique dialogue.
"The social interaction is really good, and we mix education with creativity.
"We just want them to have fun and get their hands dirty."
The workshops will run from July 8th to July 12th from 10 am to 12 pm for 5-9-year-olds, and 1 pm to 3 pm for 10-years-plus.
Children 13 and older don't need to be supervised, but are required to be dropped off and picked up directly from the centre.
Workshops:
Monday's workshop, July 8, will be mobile making, wire sculptures with Michelle McKay.
Michelle is a regular teacher at the Western Plains Cultural Centre and loves to share her enthusiasm for art with the children.
Tuesday July 9, you can create your own bunyip with Vicki Aland. This will be a three dimensional, imaginary creature you will be able to paint, and you will also get to create a landscape for it to live in.
Wednesday July 10 is animal art with Alicia O'Connor. Kids will be able to paint an animal of their choice.
Thursday July 11 will be oil pastel drawings and illustrations with Sam Paine.
Mr Paine is a Mudgee based artist and writer who has some of his latest work on show at the centre. And Friday July 12 will be creating your own scene using a diorama box with Michelle McKay. Mr Aitken said the workshop supervisors are a group of great, talented teachers who want to inspire the children to explore art and be creative.
