State of Origin celebrations were ruined for 16 vehicle owners on Sunday night after vandals smashed car windows and stole items from inside the vehicles.

Police said four vehicles were damaged near the Garden Hotel between 6pm and 8.30pm while patrons watched the footy inside the pub.
An iPad was stolen from one of the vehicles, Acting Orana-Mid Western Police District Inspector Michael Smith said.
"We're also investigating reports that up to a dozen vehicles were broken into on the grounds of the Dubbo Hospital," Acting Inspector Smith said.
"Contents inside a lot of the cars were rummaged through.
"Police are investigating and reviewing CCTV footage."
The latest incidents come after it emerged reports of malicious damage and theft from inside motor vehicles have risen in Dubbo during the past two years.
According to the latest NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research figures, in the 12 months to March 2019 police in the Dubbo Regional Council area received 740 reports of items being stolen from motor vehicles - 125 more than in the prior 12 months to March 2018.
There were also 132 more reports of malicious damage.
Domestic violence related assaults, apprehended violence order breaches and assaults on police officers were other categories of crime that also increased significantly.
In May the NSW Government announced deployed 261 new police officers to stations across the state, two of whom were stationed at Dubbo.
The government has promised to hire 1500 new police officers by the end of 2023.
