The teams played at Dubbo Sportsworld on Thursday, where Dubbo came out firing, jumping into a lead early on and never looking like being challenged in an ultimate 65-15 win.
Dubbo Coach Rebecca May was thrilled with the outcome of their Astley Cup home game.
May said there was a lot of sharpshooting coming from her players, with the points accumulating at a rapid pace from early on in the game.
"There was a lot of strong shooting from Eva Laird," May said.
"Good patient play by the whole team, with full-court defence.
"And great defence from Lucy Roberts and Monique May."
May said Dubbo's ability to fight for the ball in midcourt helped them to stay within range for most of the game.
"Great defensive centre court work by Tori Reynolds."
"She did a lot of hard work driving," she said.
By half time Dubbo College was in a 45-10 lead after having dominated most of the game in terms of possession, and they came out strong again into the third quarter.
Bathurst High picked up the pace towards the end of the third quarter where they secured a few more to their tally, but Dubbo recovered quickly with a dominating fourth quarter.
Dubbo will head to Orange in two weeks for their next Astley Cup 2019 game where they will compete against the western area champions.
Last year Orange High beat Dubbo College, taking out the 2018 Astley Cup championships 55-45, and Coach May has some reservations.
"It will be tough against Orange," she said.
"We played them in the CHS [this year's combined high schools competition] finals, and they beat us by 10 goals."
May said when Dubbo goes up against Orange, they will be without key wing attacker, Ava Medley.
Medley is out with a broken foot.
