As good Dubbo citizens, we all have opportunities to make a positive impact on those around us.

We also have the same opportunities to be negative.

One could forgive Molly Croft and her family for being negative; after all, a cancer diagnosis is no fun for anyone, especially a sport loving teenager.

But Molly has decided that rather than grumble she would look for a reason to smile every single day.

Molly is back in Dubbo now after 10 months in Sydney, and is so grateful for the love and support Ronald McDonald House showed her family that she has decided to 'pay it forward'.

Molly wants to raise $46,000 for Ronald McDonald House, the amount it would have cost the organisation to host the Crofts for the 292 nights they stayed there during her cancer treatment.

"I'm paying it forward to other kids so they can help families like ours. Without them who knows where we would have been, it was such a big help," she said.

Officially paying it forward is a random act of kindness.

There is nothing random about Molly's fundraising efforts.

She has thought about it, over many hours and with the clarity that can only come from deep reflection has decided to help someone else, strangers who find themselves in the same position as her and her family.

Molly's Mission has already raised more than $10,000 - or 52 nights. Molly is confident she'll be able to get the entire amount. Like the Crofts, the donations will help give a family somewhere to stay if a loved one is in Westmead Hospital.

Well done Molly, you are an inspiration to us all. We salute you and hope the rest of your long life is filled with love and laughter.
