The MAGS Group B troupe won in the tough School Dance Groups Years 3 and 4 category.

Adjudicator Natasha Window praised the entrants, telling MAGS to "keep working hard".

Ms Window said the school groups were "so entertaining".

She said all the participants, and their teachers, should be "so proud" of what they had done.

Praise was also given for the teamwork each group showed.

Macquarie Anglican Grammar School teacher Abbey Spencer said the 18 students had been practicing their performance of I Feel Better When I'm Dancing since the start of term one.

The voluntary group had been practicing in their lunch breaks for the eisteddfod performance.

Ms Spencer said she enjoyed teaching the students and because most of them had previous dance experience they made it easy.

"They have so much fun and they just love it," she said.

Second place in the dance section went to Dubbo South Stage 2, while third was awarded to MAGS Group A.

The Central West Leadership Academy was awarded first place in the School Dance Groups Year K to 6, where they were the only competitors.

Dancing is finished at the eisteddfod, however instrumental resumes Friday.
