NSW Blues fan Alex Boney and Queensland Maroons supporter Myles Ryan are gearing up to watch State of Origin at the Dubbo Westview Drive-In and they can't wait to experience the atmosphere.
The Wednesday night event is a first of its kind for the drive-in, which has been revived after a break of more than 30 years.
Mr Boney has been involved in volunteering at the icon to bring movies to the community one weekend a month.
The keen footy player came up with the idea for Origin to grace the drive-in's big screen and was "stoked" when the plan got the go-ahead.
"I've got a couple of families coming out, we're going to sit around, hopefully we can bring a fire bucket because it's going to be cold," Mr Boney said.
"Enjoy a cold beverage and watch the footy.
It is a big screen... it feels like you're going to be right there at the stadium, so its going to be cool.

"It is a big screen, so nothing's better than watching it on the big screen, it feels like you're going to be right there at the stadium, so it's going to be cool."
Mr Boney, a youth worker at Apollo House, is feeling confident about the result.
"NSW is coming off a good fresh start from last year and hopefully we can [win] back to back," he said.
Tickets are available on the drive-in's website.
