Last year Central West dominated all four grades, winning the girls' match as well as the under 13s, 15s and 17s.
But on Sunday at West Wyalong only the girls and the 15s got to savour victory.
The 13s and 17s were no match for their classy Northern Riverina counterparts.
AFL Central West development coordinator and under 15s coach Casey White said he was stoked for his side and all the players that went away to West Wyalong.
The under 15s game was won with the last kick of the game, an incredible result considering the Central West side was down in the first two quarters.
"We got into a really good position with a really strong third quarter," White said.
"We got the momentum back and fairly swiftly lost it at the start of the fourth. We trailed by a couple of goals with about five minutes to go. Then Jake Egan slotted one from a long way out and with about 20 seconds to go, we got one to trickle across the line with the last kick of the game.
"Everyone was super happy. It was a very hard fought and contested game. We had a lot of athleticism and speed on the outside."
While Central won only two from four games, White said it was a good result for the region.
"On the road, it's always a challenge. They're always going to be harder to play at their home then when they come to the Central West," he said.
"To get four really competitive efforts, I couldn't be more pleased for the group of kids that went away."
The win for the girls side was also a sign of how strong the program is in the region according to White
"The pathway we have for our girls, it's up there with the other top leagues," he said.
The Central West and Northern Riverina teams will now combine for the Shoalhaven Carnival from July 5-7, where they will play representative matches against South Coast, Illawarra and Sapphire Coast.
