What another big news week it was in Dubbo.
Pokie profit figures were released this week, and the clubs in Dubbo are doing a roaring trade.
Pokie profits are at almost $38 million in the Dubbo region, but Tim Costello, from the Alliance for Gambling Reform labelled those figures a 'social disaster.
We wonder if the good clubs do in the community as far as sponsorship for sporting clubs is not enough to counter the damage these machines do to people in our community.

Our mayor and Regional Express Airlines got involved in a bit of a tiff this week.
Regional Express Airlines has warned it could reduce its flights to Dubbo if the Dubbo Regional Council goes ahead with a planned increase in passenger taxes.
The RMS is in town and has put on a full-on charm offensive to try and convince locals the River Street Bridge option is the best way forward for traffic in our city.
