Dubbo families living below the poverty line received a box of wintertime essentials in May from two charity organisations to ensure parents would be able to keep their babies warm during the colder months.

The Dandelion Support Network (DSN) and Love To Dream donated up to half a million dollars' worth of swaddles, sleeping bags and sleep-suits to a large number of disadvantaged Dubbo parents.
According to DSN, seven in ten babies are born into poverty in Dubbo alone, a considerable contrast to the one in ten being born into poverty across broader NSW.
The charitable network and charity initiative Love to Dream said the temperature was a significant contributor to a babies ability to get the necessary sleep required for their well-being.
Founder and CEO of Love to Dream, Hana-Lia Krawchuk says the importance of babies and toddlers getting better quality and more extended sleeping periods is significant.
"Sleep is also critical to a family's health and well-being," Ms Krawchuk said.
"That is why it's so important to us to reach out and support these families in need.
"The donation will benefit thousands of children in Dubbo and across wider NSW."
Love To Dream partnered with 14 charities around Australia overall, as part of its tenth-anniversary celebrations.
"We are so very proud and extremely grateful to share that we're celebrating ten years this year," Ms Krawchuk said
"Giving back to struggling Australian families is our way of thanking each and every one of the people who have supported us over the last ten years, helping us to reach this huge milestone."
Ms Krawchuk said Dubbo residents could pay it forward by also donating their much-loved baby items to families in need in the region.
