"We have to be sensible with our water, there is no question about it," Councillor Shields said.
"With the levels at Burrendong Dam as low as 6%, Council has decided to take a proactive approach."
"Our first step is to implement restrictions as a pre-emptive approach to water responsibility and to encourage residents to reduce their usage."
During level 2 water restrictions, houses will use the 'odds and evens' scheme to determine whether or not they can water their lawns or gardens.
READ ALSO:
Properties with an even house number, i.e 2, 4, 6 are permitted to water their lawns and gardens on any dates of the month that are even numbers; June 2, 4, 6 and so on.
While the opposite applies for properties with an odd house number.
Properties that cover a range of house numbers, i.e. 2 - 5, are expected to observe the dates that correspond with the first house number of the property.
Properties that do not have a street number are treated like an even number property for purposes of determining water usage.
