The show is in town and our office was buzzing with anticipation for our own Faye Wheeler who had a few entries into baking competitions. We're pleased to say she snagged a few first place ribbons and we hope she brings some of the goodies to work this week!
I can't wait to taste Faye's famous synonym buns, she tells me they are just like the ones her grammar used to bake.
Check out our yarn on 'Chippa' Chant who is a modern showman. He brought millions of dollars worth of rides to Dubbo and it's an interesting tale of business and life on the road as a Carnie.
It appears the show does attract a swag of visitors from out of town but other attractions in our city have put us atop winter holiday spot lists for interstate visitors.
The yarn that sparked our kitchen conversations this week was the Dubbo parents who were fined for sending their kids to school just eight days out of 48.
Some thought the punishment was too light, some thought the only ones getting punished were the children. What are your thoughts?
The other conversation starter this week was the fact there is still a measles alert on for Dubbo. Are your vaccinations up to date?
If you're looking for something heartwarming to read, take a look at our yarn on Darryl Yeo, he's a lovely bloke who volunteer's at Baptist Care.
