A jam-packed Dubbo Showgrounds from Friday to Sunday will create life-long memories for families.
The attraction of a country show will hopefully encourage people to visit and perhaps showcase the best of Dubbo outside the showgrounds.
The Dubbo show gives the community a chance to come together and share what they love most about the town they call home.
Country shows are a much-loved event on the calendar of most small towns because they offer a chance to get involved.
Some in our city (and our newsroom) might spend months planning the perfect cake or a flower display.
Farmers get their stock into tip-top shape for the various competitions at the show.
The horticulture, cooking, photography, produce and art display's all help to make the show an inclusive event.
Many come to see the horse-riding events, ride the rides, grab a few show bags, chow down on a pluto pup or two, watch the pet parades, and see a band.
The Dubbo show affords everyone in the community the chance to get involved either as a competitor or a spectator.
Hours of tireless work goes into making the show come alive for the entire community.
It takes an army of volunteers who all show a massive amount of teamwork to keep the show rolling.
Included in the entry fee are a circus, live music, street entertainment including puppet shows, a clown and stilt walkers, woodchopping, speed shearing, fireworks, yard dog trials, showjumping, pavilion displays, farmyard nursery, livestock judging, the Great Lego Building Challenge and bikes and utes.
Get along if you can, and long may the country show live, they are the best.
