According to the Wellington Show Society's secretary Jan Wightley, everything is going according to plan for the show's big return later in the month.
"Preparations have been going well, we do anticipate having quite a few entrants in all sections, especially given that some of the other shows have had to cancel, we're expecting that we'll have more entries due to that," Mrs Wightley said.

While some other regional shows have been laid low due to a variety of factors, including the harsh drought conditions currently hammering the state, the show society are confident of a good turn out on the day.
"Possibly it'll be a little more difficult, but until the day we really don't know how many are going to turn up," Mrs Wightley said.
"But as far as we're aware we should have good entries in all sections, we've had a lot of enquiries, especially in the horse section, we always have a lot of enquiries from quite far away, it's not just locals we get people from Sydney, Hunter Valley and Tamworth."
Along with the host of returning attractions and events, like the farming challenge and the fashion show, there'll also be one or two new attractions, including a feature event Giant Atlantic Pumpkin Growing competition.

"The giant pumpkin competition should draw quite a lot of interest."
"Those that successfully grew pumpkins will be taking them along on the Friday."
"Our regular family fund challenge always draws a lot of spectators as well."
The event will begin on Friday with it's customary local horse events and yard dog trials and then be followed on Saturday by the bulk of the proceedings, with entertainment from live music, woodchopping, puppet shows and fireworks along with many others.
Gates will be open from 6am, while the official opening will take place at 11am, where Wellington's Showgirl of 2019 will be sashed.
Tickets will be $5 for pensioners and schoolchildren and $10 for adults.
