The Library and Information Week from 20 to 26 May will see the Dubbo Library host a range of activities that showcase all the great resources that it has to offer.
The events will be held across all branches of the library to celebrate the week including open days, local history and technology workshops and the always popular National Simultaneous Story Time featuring the book Alpacas with Maracas by Matt Cosgrove.
Manager of Macquarie Regional Library Kathryn McAlister said Library and Information week celebrates the many and varied resources and services that libraries provide to communities, including exciting new additions.
"The library is excited to showcase new services available such as Kanopy film streaming, and the introduction of Virtual Reality workshops at some of our branches," she said.
"The week also aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, the vital role libraries play in the community, and the importance of technology in keeping library users connected."

Mayor of the Dubbo Region Ben Shields encourages people of all ages to get involved in the information week.
"Our libraries are an invaluable asset within our community. The variety of items and services that are available at our libraries is unbelievable,"' Cr Shields said.
"I encourage everyone to visit the branches across the Dubbo Region during Information Week to find out more about what's on offer to our residents."
