Police had to get their guns out to arrest Derryam Grimes, of Culgoa Street, on April 3, after he failed to stop for them in Narromine, swerved into oncoming traffic, drove to Dubbo and crashed into another car before driving dangerously around city streets.
Mr Grimes was refused bail when he appeared in Dubbo Local Court on April 4, and pleaded guilty to driving dangerously and failing to stop for police.
He originally pleaded not guilty driving the stolen car, not giving his details to another driver and using an offensive weapon to prevent his lawful detention.
Via an audiovisual link from prison Mr Grimes appeared in Dubbo Local Court on May 8 and indicated he was changing his plea.
In documents presented to the court, police claimed Mr Grimes told them he had injected a mixture of oxycontin and a morphine patch before he was arrested.
He will be sentenced on May 21.
