A 42-year-old Dubbo man has pleaded guilty to eight charges of dishonestly obtaining property by deceptive means after cheques he wrote bounced.

Pita Taurau, of Mumford Crescent, told police he committed the crimes "for the money" and then sold the items he acquired to friends.
Police documents presented to Dubbo Local Court reveal that on October 6 Mr Tauru wrote a $1529 cheque out to pay for items from Shearing Supplies Dubbo. It bounced.
He visited Landmark Dubbo on October 26 and 27. There he wrote two cheques worth a total of $2634.50 that also bounced.
On November 2 Mr Tauru bounced a cheque at Delta Agribusiness Dubbo for $2174.37. He visited another Delta outlet in Dunedoo on November 10 and bounced another cheque for $993.47.
Peter Maher Shearing in Forbes was the next business Mr Taurau bounced a cheque at, this time it was for $780.
Landmark Warren was the final victim of Mr Tauru's cheque bouncing activities. He visited the store on November 15 and November 16, where he wrote two cheques that bounced for a total of $4185.06.
Mr Taurau is expected to be sentenced on June 4.
