With multiple reports of theft, break and enters into vehicles and homes and vandalism, Senior Constable Burns feels it necessary to remind Dubbo and the wider community of home and vehicle safety.
"Lock your doors and windows during the day and night," Constable Burns said.
"Take every precaution you can.
"Remove any overgrown trees and bushes that an intruder may be able to hide behind.
"Good home security features include sensor lights and window locks and clamps.
According to Constable Burns, the glass of a window can be easily moved, so to effectively secure your window it needs a good lock or a clamp.
"Don't leave valuable items in visible places, and be a good neighbour.
"If you see something suspicious or out of the normal, report it."
To report any suspicious activity you can call the Dubbo Police Station of 6883 1599, or for an emergency call 000.
