Mr Bennett. Mr Bennett! Out this way.
There's a little club in the west battling away and it needs some help, any help, you might have heard of it - the Rabbitohs.
Not the South Sydney variety, another lot of battlers. Dubbo Westside.
Long the whipping boys of the Group 11 competition, the Westside Rabbitohs look on their last legs in 2019 and after an 86-0 thumping at the hands of Parkes in round one of the new Group 11 season they're on the brink, well at least that's the way it looks.
Surely there's only one nail left to hammer into the coffin, and a trip to Nyngan to take on the mighty Tigers at Larkin Oval might well be it.
But there's a bit of resistance - a band of brave bunnies, we'll call them.
Paul Hausia, Brooke Mallison and co ... they deserve every chance, every bit of help they can get.
The former admits to not being a massive rugby league fan and to be fair Hausia's known more as a rugby union coach, but having helped the rugby league club to a title in 1986 he got involved this season as a member of the board.
Hausia sees the bigger picture.
Sporting clubs, of all sorts and codes, are vital elements of a thriving city, which Dubbo is. And there's certainly plenty of talent to prop up three league clubs in the Macquarie capital.
There needs to be.
There needs to be that pathway for junior sportspeople, of all levels, to continue to be active into their adult lives. There needs to be that outlet. There needs to be that community.
But a pre-season from hell has put a dampener on that hope, somewhat.
The coach walks away, the old president has to stand down due to a new employment opportunity and the battle to get players to training is amplified.
All of a sudden there just needs to be some calm.
So there sits Hausia, looking at his big picture. He's not about to let the Westside dream come to an end.
No chance.
He's now head coach and president, all the while still coaching Geurie Goats in the Oilsplus Cup, the third Central West Rugby Union tier.
It's a funny situation. Sport can be like that.
There's a big chance Hausia leads the Goats to another undefeated premiership on Saturdays, and then, all going well, the battle continues on a Sunday. Wins will be rare.
But that's where Wayne can help.
For the uninitiated, we're talking about Wayne Bennett. The seven-time NRL premiership winning coach now in charge of South Sydney, the only other team in the cosmos with a Rabbit as a mascot.
No one in rugby league has as much sway as Bennett.
We'll see that this week, with the former Broncos coach set to tackle his old club at ANZ Stadium on Thursday night.
It's Bennett versus Seibold this week, Souths up against Brisbane and the old wily mastercoach will work it perfectly. He alwasy does.
So Bennett and Souths ... and Westside? Why not?
Let's get something straight: no one at Westside is asking for handouts. The club has made it abundantly clear 2019 will be tough. The players know that, the committee knows that and now everyone in Group 11 knows that too.
But a small link to one of the most recognisable brands in Australian sport, in this tough time, wouldn't hurt, would it?
We're not talking money, although sponsorship wouldn't hurt Westside at all, especially after they lost their major sponsor over the off-season too.
We're not really talking players either, although Greg Inglis would be pretty handy at the back for the Bunnies, no doubt.
But a little tip of the hat, one that says 'we're here if you need us' would speak volumns to a small club trying to punch well above its weight this winter.
Recognition that running a club, even in a successful time, is a tough job, and the storm this band of brave bunnies at Westside is negotiating will be worth it in the long run.
South Sydney enjoys a bye in round 16, which falls at the beginning of July.
If the final nail in the coffin hasn't been yet nailed, which we desperately hope it hasn't, then surely a trip from a couple of Bunnies would help boost the spirits of a bush footy club in dire need of a morale boost, of any kind, this year.
