Despite that, and the majority of his dancing experience coming from the pub on a Friday night, he's taking to the dance floor for the Stars of Dubbo.
The Stars of Dubbo Dance for Cancer on May 11 raises money for the Cancer Council.
"I've always been involved with a little bit of charity work here and there," Mr Cusack said.
"Cancer's an issue pretty close to my heart having had some friends and family who have been in the fight with it and I saw it as an awesome opportunity to have a bit of fun and rally some community support."
Mr Cusack said the event gave people a chance to dress up and raise some money in a way different from selling raffle tickets on the street.

He's hoping to raise at least $3000.
However, the star said when the Cancer Council told him taking part would "come with its challenges", they weren't wrong.
"Sleep is at a minimum to try and coordinate all the different things like booking a barbecue at Bunnings," Mr Cusack said.
"It puts you through your hoops doing the dance rehearsals and dancing with 20 young girls who have been doing it forever. I'm a bit like the tin man."
After putting in so much work to make the night a success, Mr Cusack said it would be in need of a new project once the goal was achieved.
But for now, he's focused on his performance at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre.
"Overwhelmingly my feelings are of excitement but I think I'll be nervous when I walk out on the stage. As much as I do a lot of talking and will talk to anyone who will listen to me I think it will be a little bit different when I'm standing up on a stage trying to remember a dance," Mr Cusack said.
He was tight-lipped on what the performance will entail but said he would be dancing to a pop song, from his era of pub days and the "interesting" costumes had lead to him putting in a lot of time on the sewing machine.
Mr Cusack said he was grateful to everyone who had gotten behind him for the cause from local businesses to loved ones to the Cancer Council.
Tickets for the Stars of Dubbo Dance for Cancer are currently sold out.
