Eighteen horses have nominated for the feature Bathurst RSL Club Soldiers Saddle (1400 metres) but Paul Theobald's Heeby Frenly is the only locally-trained horse to feature.
Dubbo trainers Bob Caton and Garry Lunn also nominated for the feature, the former putting forward Go Beau Jangles while the latter has Pyramid Prince and Percussion in the running.
The field will be trimmed down to 14 starters for the $32,000 Class 4 race next Thursday.
Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing manager Michelle Tarpenning was delighted by the numbers, with trainers from far and wide putting chances forward.
"It would have been nice to have a couple of other Bathurst trainers in there but it's great to see Paul Theobald stepping up with Heeby Frenly. Hopefully the acceptances will stand up as well," she said.
"Nominations were great at 129, which is great for that day because there's a lot of racing on in the area.
"It's always a great day of racing and we always get a great crowd in to support us."
Leading the nominations list for the main event is Gayna Williams' El Mo who is unbeaten from his two starts this year.
Following the release of Thursday's weights he was slugged with the 63.5 kilogram top figure.
Garry White's Redemption Road has been racing among good provincial company of late and is another of the higher-benchmark horses who look a danger in Bathurst.
Acceptances for the meeting are due to be declared on Tuesday morning.
