The event was part of the city's Youth Week celebrations and included various activities for adults and children.
Dubbo Regional Council youth development officer Lionel Wood said the committee had been working hard on the event in the months leading up to it.
The theme of Youth Week this year is 'coming together to share, connect, speak out and celebrate' completely highlights what the Youth Fest event was all about, Mr Wood said.
"With the theme it sort of underlines diversity and here in Dubbo we're pretty proud of that," he said.
"We have a very diverse range of cultures that we showcase here in Dubbo... and at the Council we really wanted to highlight that as well and just put on something that everyone can enjoy."

Youth Fest was held from 1pm to 5pm and when the Daily Liberal spoke to Mr Woods, he said in the first hour approximately 350 people had attended.
"So we're pretty excited about that," he said.
"It just goes to show that a lot of people are getting behind us and a lot of people are getting on board."
As well as the various family, friendly activities that were held throughout the day, there was also representatives from local Dubbo agencies.
"We really wanted to showcase what we've got here in Dubbo, agency wise, emergency services and just a bit of fun as well," Mr Wood said.
"And as adults we can still have fun.. I guess to show the youth that we can get involved in stuff like that."
Mr Wood said it was great to see the smiling faces of the kids who were taking part in the Youth Fest activities which included 3 on 3 basketball, a mechanical bull rise, a community mural and a slime event.
While the event is labelled Youth Week, with youth being form 12 to 24 years-old, Mr Wood said the community of Dubbo was a very family orientated town which is why they didn't want to discriminate against ages.
"It's catering to everyone and being school holidays it worked out really well for everyone," he said.

Mr Wood said the Dubbo Regional Council pushed to share activities across Dubbo and Wellington for the Youth Week events.
"We wanted to look after our brothers and sisters over there. They're family. We've had really great turnout to events, a great response form the community, really positive. We can only build on that and look forward to the future," he explained.
If Youth Fest is as successful as the youth committee hope, they aim to have it a yearly event, Mr Wood said.
"People's involvement today will only make it bigger for tomorrow. That's our aim," he said.
Mr Woods thanked the community for supporting the event and for all those who have helped along the way.
