Doctors from near and far will speak at the Regional and Rural NSW Prostate Cancer Conference in Dubbo on May 4 and 5.
It's being run by the Combined Prostate Cancer Support Groups of Rural NSW which has opened the conference up to the public at no cost.
Secretary, Dubbo's Elizabeth Allen OAM, is urging western region residents to register for "catering purposes" and hear from doctors from Dubbo and elsewhere.
Mrs Allen said the speakers included Dubbo Hospital's Dr Bala Indrijit, a urologist who will speak about the "latest treatments available".
She said Sydney urologist Dr Phillip Katelaris, who was working towards "overcoming the side-effect of erectile dysfunction" would address the crowd as would prostate pathologist Professor Warwick Delprado, who would talk about how the disease was diagnosed.
Dubbo Hospital's Dr Dane Holden will cover skin cancer lesions because they are "so topical for the whole community", Mrs Allen says.
