The Dubbo Motorbike Rally is being held on the weekend of May 11 where approximately one thousand motorcycle enthusiasts will attend.
Bike safety is important to committee chair Stan Single, who is a former Dubbo police commander.
Mr Single hopes the event can boost the local economy and spread the 'Towards Zero' bike safety message.
The retired officer explained he's always been a bike enthusiast and has even travelled overseas for various bike rally's where hundreds of thousands of riders have been in attendance.
"America is different to Australian rally's," he said.
"In Australia there are gatherings like the Show and Shies, Swap Meets or Bike Shows... I figured Dubbo lends itself to hosting a big rally."
Mr Single said with Dubbo being central and just a five hour drive from places such as Sydney and Wollongong it was easy for riders to get here.

As the event is free and registration is not requires, Mr Single isn't too sure on the exact attendance figure.
"But if we had 1000 bikes... I think that would be impressive," he said.
Mr Single, together with the Dubbo Bike Rally committee, who is made up of other Dubbo ex-police officers and local businessmen, have been working on the event for the past 12 months.
"We're trying to make it a perpetual event," Mr Single said.
"We've got over 7000 hits on (the Dubbo Bike Rally) Facebook.. we still don't know how many people will turn up."
The event will also have distributors such as Harley Davidson, Yamaha and Indian in attendance, as well as various merchandise available.
There will also be vintage cars on display and much more.
