The Rams slumped to a sixth successive defeat to start the season on Saturday, leading experienced guard Dan Medway to say more effort needs to be put in on the training court.
A lack of scoring again hurt the Rams as they slumped to a 84-54 loss at Bankstown.
"We've just got to stay the course. We're not going to beat the likes of Sutherland and Bansktown overnight," Medway said, his new-look side alone at the foot of the ladder.
"We're probably not quite at the level we need to be so we've got to catch up.
"The focus for us has to be on training harder than they do. It can't just be train harder for one week and then beat someone. We've got to train harder for months to catch up."
The effort and attitude was never a problem on Saturday and Medway said his side wasn't guilt of turning the ball over too often.
The problem, simply, was not enough shots going in.
We didn't play terribly at all, we've just got to find a way to score more points.
- Daniel Medway
"We were tit-for-tat for the first five minutes and then they had a bit of a run. When teams go on a run we need to go on our own runs and that's not happening," Medway said.
"We were stopping them on defence but we weren't converting that into points. There was probably five or six times we stopped them scoring but then we didn't score five or six times.
"We're going on four 4-0 runs, not 10-0 runs and that's the difference."
The Rams were competitive early before going into the first break down by nine points.
The second quarter was a decisive one as Svetomir Gavrilovic and his Bruins put the foot down.

Gavrilovic, who led all scorers in the game with 26 points, helped his side to a strong 44-21 ead at halftime.
The Rams were again led by the outstanding work of center Rob Dewar and he helped his team lift again in the third time and while they ate into the lead, it wasn't enough.
The lead extended in the final quarter again and the margin finished at 30 points.
"We didn't play terribly at all, we've just got to find a way to score more points," Medway said.
Dewar did all he could for the Rams and finished with 23 points, again leading the way for his side.
The Canadian big man is quickly establishing himself as one of the standout players in the league but there was little support for him on Saturday, with the next best scorer being Charles Baines with nine points.
"He's doing the bulk of the rebounding in defence and then the bulk of the scoring in offence," Medway said.
"He's drawing a lot of attention but arguably he's still been coming out on top and been the best on the court in every game.
"We've got to help out ... if we can increase our shooting by 10 percent then Rob won't be triple teamed all the time and he can probably score another 10 points."
The Rams have a general bye for Easter this weekend before return for another tricky away trip to Canberra.
