Coonamble High School student Piper White has ambitions of being the first woman in her family to go to university and Dubbo could be vital to achieving the goal.

Visiting the Dubbo campus of Charles Sturt University (CSU) on Friday the Year 12 student "felt like I can achieve something and be successful with my life".
Piper was one of scores of students from western NSW to attend one of CSU's Explore Days.
The events allow students in Year 10 to Year 12 to learn about tertiary courses and life as a university student.
Piper attended a session about nursing, a career she was interested in pursuing through studying at Dubbo.
"It will be easier to travel back and forth between my home town, and I like the accommodation," she said.
Piper's schoolmate Josie Smith was interested in studying social work, and was looking at CSU's online options.
CSU marketing events manager Katie Trebley said CSU at all its regional locations could provide amazing opportunities for young people.
"The university has state-of-the-art facilities, wins awards for its teaching and research, and our courses give our students real-life experiences to make them job-ready when they graduate," she said.
"Our graduates also enjoy the highest employment rates of all Australian university graduates, and the highest starting incomes."
