A Dubbo driver has pleaded not guilty to causing police to pursue him twice at high speeds, within the space of an hour, while his licence was disqualified.

Police allege Matthew Wayne Aitken, of Hopkins Parade, drove dangerously and failed to stop for them twice on March 29 — once in Wellington between 6.10-6.30pm and again in Wongarbon between 6.45-7pm on the same day.
Police claim the 26-year-old was disqualified from driving at the time of the pursuits.
Mr Aitken also pleaded not guilty to additional charges of driving while disqualified, stealing fuel from a BP service station in Dubbo and driving a stolen car on March 30.
In Wellington on March 31 — when police arrested Mr Aitken after the alleged incidents that happened in the two days prior — he was charged with another count of driving while disqualified which he pleaded guilty to.
He pleaded not guilty to a further charge being in possession of equipment that police believed could be used to break into a house, and a final charge of driving a stolen car around Guerie in February.
Mr Aitken is in custody and was refused bail after the arrest.
His case returns to Dubbo Local Court on May 15.
