About $1000 has been raised to help the tree kangaroos following a flipping fun fundraiser on Wednesday night.

The Australasian Society of Zoo Keepers - Dubbo branch held its annual fundraiser this week. They raised money for the Tree Roo Rescue and Conservation Centre.
Fundraising coordinator Karen James said said the event was a huge success.
Ms James said she had been hoping to raise $500 and she was very happy to have doubled it.

The money was raised through entry fees, a raffle, an auction and donations.
There are 14 species of tree kangaroo and they're all declining in numbers.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the releasing of rescued and hand-raised animals into areas that will improve connectivity of populations and also encourage genetic exchange. It will also help control wild dogs in key areas and educate the public about controlling domestic dogs.
The Flip Out event was one of many held across Australasia to raise money for the tree kangaroos.
